This is a great extension for Firefox, allowing you to switch between different Flash player versions. This is great considering the only other way to test Flash with different players is to uninstall your current Flash player and reinstall the one you want to test.
This extension comes with all the currently published flash player plugins (from the version 2 to the most recent 9,0,16) and allows you to easily switch from one plugin to another, or also to remove the currently installed plugin (maybe for testing the express install).
Once installed you will find the “flash switcher” icon in the Firefox statusbar at right. Click on it and a list of available options will appear.

With some fancy code that you can get here, you can bring your designs to life using Flash. A little ActionScript and a little thing called parallax, you can give designs depth.
Check out the example and download fully commented code here. Enjoy!

So the guru Colin Moock published an interesting article about nine problems he sees with ActionScript 3.0 and Flash Player 9. Most of the charges he makes are specific to the Flash CS3 authoring environment, and the general theme is that ActionScript 3.0 and its implementation in Flash CS3 makes the development process more difficult than it should be for users without significant programming backgrounds.
Colin does an excellent job of describing each charge in detail, with code examples. He also spends a lot of time discussing not only what Adobe should do in each case, but also what the Flash developer community should do. If you regularly work in the Flash CS3 environment, I highly recommend this article. There’s less relevant material for Flex and FlexBuilder users, but a couple of the topics may be of interest: “2. Getting rid of loaded .swf files is hard.” and “6. ActionScript 3.0’s additional errors make coding cumbersome.”
I’d like to encourage you to read his article and let me know what you think!

From NAB ‘08. Imagine playing a video and, while it’s playing, rotate it to a different angle. Immersive Media did a great job. Check it out.

Sofirst off, what is Flash Media Server? Flash Media Server is a media server that allows you to deliver high quality video, on demand video, live video and audio content, and much more. So really it opens up a whole new world of options for making money. Whether you need to stream prerecorded video, a live video event, or even create a social networking app, you can do it with Flash Media Server. And all the end-user needs is the Flash Player, which everyone seems to have these days (99%).
Not only that, but there’s the Flash Media Streaming Server available for $995! For even more options there’s also the Flash Media Interactive Server and the Flash Media Development Server which is FREE! See this very useful comparison chart.
Oh, and the Flash Media Server can even stream video to Flash Lite for mobile apps!

Here’s a Mario Bros style game I created for Starz last year and just got around to posting. It’s actually created for employees of cable call centers to play and retain information on Starz. It’s pretty addictive so I think it’s working. I also make a debut in the game so look for me. But keep in mind that it’s made for a T1 so it migh take some time to load initially.
Check it out.
